Water supply system maintenance operations
Until October 19th
The Verdun borough hereby wishes to inform residents that maintenance operations on the water system supplying the whole Verdun territory started on August 13. To be carried out neighbourhood by neighbourhood, starting with L’Île-des-Sœurs, this work will continue on until completion, by October 19, 2007.
These operations, which consist of inspecting and handling the various water valves to make sure they are in good working order, are not expected to result in any interruptions in the water supply service, except in certain exceptional situations. In such cases, the residents affected will be notified in advance by means of a door hanger, advising them to store water so as to have enough during this interruption or to take other appropriate measures.
Special conditions
Despite all the precautions taken by the borough, the water may become discoloured for a short period of time. If that happens, just let the tap water run until it becomes clear again in order to get rid of the residue and discoloured water in the pipes.
The borough wishes to thank residents for their understanding while the work is under way. It is important to remember that the water valves and pipes must be periodically inspected in order to keep our water supply system in good condition and detect any water leakage that wouldn't otherwise be apparent.
