Body-Fit classes to soon be offered at the Elgar Centre
In our constant attempt to stay fit and lose some weight, most of us are always on the lookout for the latest fitness techniques and classes that will give us that edge. Sorting through the many offerings can sometimes be a confusing affair, so why not register for a class that encompasses a little bit of everything?
Starting Friday, September 14, a Body-Fit class will be offered at the Elgar Centre for Island residents. Body-Fit is a beginner level toning class that includes techniques for a variety of disciplines, such as Thai-boxing, yoga, light aerobics and strength conditioning. The class will aim to strengthen your core and major muscle groups, increase your flexibility, enhance your body awareness and agility, and improve your cardiovascular function as well as your general well-being.
Professional natural fitness competitor teaching the class
Carol-Lyne Desroches is a professional natural fitness competitor and personal trainer, who is also a certified personal trainer (CanFitPro) and kettle bell instructor (Agastu). She's also a level II coach in artistic gymnastics (NCCP).
She has extensive experience in Thai boxing, gymnastics, and strength training and has been a professional natural fitness competitor for the past three years. Being a natural competitor, her approach to fitness and nutrition is geared towards a drug-free commitment to health and she aims to inspire her students to reach their goals in a healthy way -- both for the body and the mind.

The Body-Fit classes are geared towards adults, but Carol-Lyne will also be teaching Acro-Gymnastics for children; a fun class that blends gymnastics on the floor with dancing. The kids get to learn the basics of gymnastics build strength and flexibility and incorporate all of it into a dance choreography. Acro-Gym is a great way for active and hyper kids to roll, jump, twist, and move like they've never moved before.

Those interested, can call Terri at 514-769-0363. Classes will take place at the Elgar Centre (260 Elgar), starting Friday, September 14.
