The requests by APRIDS president Juliette Barcelo have been given full attention and the 3D mock-up is finally ready.
The tri-dimensional mock-up is finally ready
It would have taken several months, but the mock-up at the entry and exit points of L'Île-des-Sœurs is finally ready and will be presented to residents next week.
It was the president of APRIDS, Me Juliette Barcelo, who requested Borough Council to prepare the mock-up in order to better explain to residents the nature of the road work that will be undertaken in L'Île-des-Sœurs from each side of the Champlain Bridge. A first model was completed a few months ago but it was not accepted by Mayor Trudel because it wasn’t tri-dimensional.
It was apparently difficult to find a company that would do such work, but officials finally found one. The mock-up not only will indicate the roads, bridges and viaducts in three dimension, but it will also show an enlarged plan of the sections in the island where road work will be carried out.
The mock-up will be displayed in the chamber hall during the regular meeting on November 6 so that attendees can look at it. It will then be brought to the Elgar community centre where it will be remain there for a period of time. It is possible that it will also be taken to other public areas in L'Île-des-Sœurs to allow a larger number of residents to get a more precise idea of the road work that will be carried out in the next few years.
