Call for 13-17-year-old candidates
Working committee on L’Île-des-Sœurs' youth
The working committee on L’Île-des-Sœurs' youth, set up by Verdun Borough Mayor Claude Trudel, is recruiting at the present time. The comitee is looking for three 13-17-year-olds in the L’Île-des-Sœurs neighbourhood to sit on this committee and provide the other members with additional food for thought. Those who are in this age bracket and want to contribute their views to this committee must apply before Monday, March 3 at noon. To qualify, they must submit a short text mentioning their interest and the reasons why they want to take part in this committee. A total of 3 or 4 meetings is planned in addition to a consultation session.
The Committee's mandate will be to explore avenues, to resolve the problems raised, which may then be submitted to the youngsters in the neighbourhood during a consultation. In addition to the 3 teens, the Committee will be made up of Mayor Claude Trudel; Jean Derome, a L’Île-des-Sœurs resident and father of a family there; Alain Tassé, City Councillor in the Verdun Borough and in charge of the Family Policy; a representative of Verdun's Direction de la culture, des sports, des loisirs et du développement social and a police officer from the SPVM.
Youngsters interested in being a member of this committee must submit their application to the Mayor's office, to the address below:
