Nordic spa to “round” off the golf project
Anne Joyal and Guillaume Lemoine have been working for four to five years to accomplish their Nordic spa project. The couple found a dream location beside the golf course in L'Île-des-Sœurs. The work just started and the spa’s opening is planned for November – an event that should delight island residents who will be able to spoil themselves at a place near home during the Christmas holidays.
In their search for the ideal environment, the couple limited their choice to the lac des Battures and the St-Paul area, a natural spot just five minutes from Montreal’s downtown core. “There are some 20 Nordic spas in Quebec, but usually in the outskirts of the city. The proximity of a major urban centre undoubtedly makes it attractive” said Anne Joyal as she spoke to some people who attended the business club meeting on May 22.
Her life and business partner, Guillaume Lemoine, believes that the project, estimated at $4 million, will create 80 jobs in its initial phase of operations.
Feeling of well-being
Called Storm, the couple’s Nordic spa project will welcome visitors into a Scandinavian atmosphere with a magnificent view of lac des Battures and the St. Paul forest. “We’re literally putting people in the bath for them to truly relax, thanks to the technique of cold, hot and rest”, Mr. Lemoine explained.
Spa guests will be able to enjoy the facilities in the open air throughout the year at Storm, alternating between steam and cold baths and finishing up the day with a body massage. “What better way to recharge your batteries to face your everyday stress”, asked Mrs. Joyal.
Imagine entering an enchanting place smelling of essential oils and steam coming out of thermal waters, and then soaking in cold water in a tub, under a waterfall, a shower or even in a small circular dish on lac des Battures just before taking a bit of rest, and then starting all over again several times.
“The benefits of this type of relaxation can last two to four days”, Anne Joyal said, who hopes to satisfy her future clients by offering them services from 10h00 to 23h00 seven days a week, based on the accessibility concept – the entrance fee will be about $40.00.
The spa facilities, which also include a health bistro and golf privileges will be offered as a complementary package by the Trinité, golf, spa et sanctuaire complex, all under a harmonious architecture. This way, while the Mister plays golf, the Mrs. can enjoy spa treatments, or vice-versa!
