Photos capture those special moments
(PV)At the invitation of Verdun Borough, photographer Maude Chauvin will gather a few of her works for a photo exhibit to be held in Verdun. Visitors can view her photos and learn about her techniques from July 9 to August 15 at the Elgar Community Centre at 260 Elgar Street in L’Île-des-Soeurs.
The exhibit’s theme is Scénario originel (Original scenario) - a series of colour photos where each photo has the same subject but photographed in two different angles conveying two different expressions. “My technique is described as a process of getting to the core truth of the human being at the present time,” the artist explained. Photography is an art that is meant to capture the experience of the “now”, the present, that given moment when photographer and subject are united in one place where the history of this coming together is evident. It is the power of this photographic moment that Maude Chauvin wants the public to see. In 2005, Mme Chauvin participated in a collective exhibit featuring the works of Cégep du Vieux-Montréal graduates. She was also a recipient of the Spécial étudiants 2005 contest sponsored by the magazine Photo sélection.
Everyone is invited to see the works of this talented photographer. Admission to the exhibit is free. For more information, call 514 765-7150.
