How about some wood sculpting?
If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to try to do more stuff, you may find that it’s pretty hard to find new and affordable activities to do. The Verdun borough's program of activities thought about you and is offering guitar lessons and also wood and stone sculpturing lessons for the winter session.
Guitar lessons
Children and adults can exercise their guitar skills in one of the two levels of lessons offered. Starting January 16th and ending April 3rd, Level 1 lessons will take place Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for children between 9 and 17 years old and from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for adults. For more experienced players or aspiring rock stars, Level 2 lessons are given Wednesdays at the same time periods as Tuesdays’ lessons. These lessons will all be held at Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux located at 4501 Bannantyne street. Info: 514-765-7150.
Wood and stone sculpting
Also given at Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux wood sculpturing lessons will begin in the week of January 15. Come discover the techniques of this thrilling art and learn how to make your self some nice figurines. Mondays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. or Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Adults are also invited to take stone sculpturing lessons every Friday morning from 9 :30 p.m. till noon. These lessons are going to be given at the Elgar Centre, located at 260 Elgar street. Info: 514-765-7270.
