(TF) Each year, Verdun residents who have a Verdun Access card, are invited to purchase trees and bushes at affordable prices. It's a borough initiative that's always a big hit!
The Embellishment Committee came up with the idea, to encourage residents to beautify their surroundings. This is the 9th edition of the annual sale and it begins on April 9 and ends on April 20. Those who buy something will be taking possession of their purchase on May 12, between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the municipal greenhouses.
Among the offerings, will be Wedgewood Blue lilacs, apple trees, Boston ivy, rose bushes and honeysuckle. In total, 250 units will be up for sale and it's always a popular event, so feel free to reserve your purchase.
Reservations and payment can be made at the Marcel-Giroux Community Centre (4501 Bannantyne), or at the Elgar Community Centre (206 Elgar). The limit is set at two trees or bushes per address. The sale price is 25 to 35% less than what one would expect to pay at a plant nursery, so don't miss out!
