As part of the "Frames of Mind" series, a personal documentary chronicling the filmmaker's mother’s battle with schizophrenia, the family dynamics and her subsequent trials within the public health system, will be featured on Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m.
The film will be seen in its original English version with French subtitles. The director and writer is Susan Smiley. Douglas experts will be on hand for a bilingual discussion following the viewing of the film. Ridha Joober, MD, PhD, Douglas director of the Schizophrenia and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Research Theme and psychiatrist at the Prevention and Early Intervention for Psychoses Program (PEPP-Montréal) and Karl Beck, human relations agent with the Douglas Assertive Community Treatment Team will be on hand.
