Kabaret Karaïbes at MAI theatre

Accompanied by the excellent percussionist Gotta Lago and the spirited dancer Garant Nlandu, multidisciplinary artist Franck Sylvestre combines his acting, storytelling, dancing and puppeteering talents to reveal the essence of Creole tradition.

Kabaret Karaïbes has a soothing tropical vibe, but it's also a presentation charged with emotion. Inspired by both childlike innocence and historical reality, the show plants thought-provoking seeds in the audience. Tradition and modernity, childhood and adulthood, Africa and Europe, all play off each other in a place where differences become a source of inspiration.

This colourful presentation will bring the 2006-2007 season of the MAI to a joyous close. Don't miss it!

Kabaret Karaïbes runs from May 24 to May 27, Thursday to Sunday, at 8 p.m. Sunday at 3 p.m. The family matinee is free for youngsters 12 to 15 years old. The story is appropriate for audiences 12 and older. Tickets are $20 and $15 (reduced).
