Island residents certainly love their forest, but those interested in finding out a bit more about the Island's flora and fauna, should take advantage of guided nature walks, taking place every Saturday, at 2 p.m.
According to Annie Tellier, from Héritage Laurentien, this is a great opportunity for nature lovers (Island residents or not) to walk in the Domaine Saint-Paul and discover more about the birds and animals that make their home here.

Those interested, can simply come to lac des Battures, on Saturday, at 2 p.m. and take part in a guided walking tour. Those who may not find that time convenient can still benefit from an information booth, installed by lac des Battures for the summer.
Parc des Rapides
Not too far from L'Ile-des-Soeurs, at Parc des Rapides, one of the most beautiful nature parks in LaSalle and the entire area of Montreal, nature walks are also being offered by Héritage Laurentien.
Each week, a new theme is being discussed by naturalists. For example, on August 4-5, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. nature lovers can come and find out all about amphibians and reptiles and the ones that live in the park. A number of fun activities are also being offered for children at 11 a.m., making it a great way for your kids to become interested in nature and its protection at a very young age. Mondays are dedicated to the study of birds, which Parc des Rapides has a plethora of.

All activities are free, but a $2 contribution is encouraged to subsidize the great work that Héritage Laurentien does. For more information, you can call 514-367-6570.
