(PV) - A few weeks ago, the J.K.A. Shotokan Karate Club welcomed one of the world’s most eminent karate masters, Shihan Yasuo Sakurai. He participated in an important seminar which took place, in most part, at the Tennis Club of L'Île-des-Sœurs where the karate school later moved to.
Several hundreds of pupils of Professor Shahrokh Hoghooghi at L'Île-des-Sœurs took part in this important event. They saw Mr. Sakurai in action who is a high level competitor in Japan. He trained the Shizuoka team, Quebec team and British Columbia team. He is a black belt, 7th dan and was crowned champion for six consecutive times (including 2007) during the competition All Japan JKA Master' S Kata-Champion.
This major event took place for the first time in L'Île-des-Sœurs. During the seminar, several pupils successfully passed their test for their black belt. The event also featured the most recent techniques of kihon, kata and kumite and updates during the JKA Masters Camp which took place in Japan last October.
