Saint Lawrence Optimist Club returns to Nun’s Island

Islanders who need a break can head to the local Provigo’s parking lot (Le Village shopping center) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (August 21-22-23) to enjoy delicious hot dogs and soft drinks. Once again, the Saint Lawrence Optimist Club, sponsored by Provigo, will be holding its “Hot Dog & Soft Drink” fundraiser to help fund their OPTIMIST PROJECTS. Optimist secretary-treasurer Joseph Quinn, tells us that they basically put together back-to-school packages for local under privileged students. We speak to the local principals in order to find out which of their students are most in need of supplies.

Residents of Nun’s Island have been very supportive of our activities. The Saint Lawrence Optimist Club has Provigo’s store manager, FiorelloVellucci, to thank for his support in this fundraiser.
